Here is a story by Rajesh M Jose for the technically literates 🙂 Kidding its for all.
I can bet my month’s salary on this. The huge crush Unni Krishnan had on Devika had nothing to do with her killer looks or tapered legs. Unni had seen enough life and times to believe the slightly updated version of the good old proverb; “Looks are deceptive –at least many a time.”
After all, Unni came from a more rational background. A BTech from NIT(National Institute of Technology); three times undisputed champion of intercollegiate coding competition and now the blue eyed team lead and coder boy of his project manager Khalid Latif for the last five years, Unni was never susceptible to irrational inclinations or basic instincts.
Rather than the stunning looks of Devika, it was her stunning logic that bowled him over beyond a chance. As a team lead he was forced to do a weekly review of his team member’s code. Khalid never compromised on quality and so there was no escape for Unni from the Friday afternoon code review sessions. Fxcop was a handy tool for code review but Unni never trusted the tool when it comes to the logical perfection of the code. He believed in lean, mean and smart logic.
Truly, it was much more than smart logic he saw in the very first function written by Devika, he had reviewed. She was class apart. Each function of her code, on review made Unni to have a long gaze at her, sitting diagonally opposite to his cubicle. Man…everything about her looks was lying big me. The soft, flowing locks of dark brown hair, big sparkling and intelligent eyes glued to the monitor, long fingers typing in the code without a break, never taking the help of IDE intellisense and the gold covered single Rudraksha she had on her bracelet…all those were amusingly feminine, except the Arnold Schwarzenegger logical muscles she sported in her brain.
No, honestly he was not eyeing up the candy.
